Bushra is the story of a woman who defied the impossible.

In the city of Mukalla, Bushra, the daughter of Jaar city in Abyan governorate, lived a story of struggle and determination that will remain engraved in memory. She was a young woman who carried in her eyes the sparkle of life, and in her heart big dreams, but fate planned a different path for her; a path full of challenges and difficulties. The story began when she felt a strange pain above her tongue. At first, she thought it was just a simple inflammation, but the pain increased day after day until it became unbearable. Bushra decided to see a specialist doctor and did the necessary tests and x-rays. During that visit that would change her life forever, she heard words she did not expect to hear: "You have cancer." The shock was harsh on her and nothing came to her mind at the time - after she thanked God - except that her father, who was sick with a heart condition, would not know the news of her cancer, fearing that it would affect his health, especially since she was facing this bitter reality alone. Her husband, instead of being her support, was drowning in qat addiction, leaving her to face her fate alone. Despite that, Bushra did not give up. Her faith in God was strong, and her love for her children motivated her to continue living. Her treatment journey began as an impossible mission, full of challenges and suffering, as at that time, specifically in December of the year (2018), radiation therapy was not available in her place of residence in Mukalla, so she had to travel to Sana'a Governorate, the cold city, where she faced difficulty in staying in light of one of her relatives abandoning their home, to find herself lost in the cold streets of Sana'a with her young children until God provided her with good people to shelter her and her neighbors provided them with bedding and blankets, and thanks to God she settled and began radiation therapy sessions, and she says about that: "I felt depressed in the first month of radiation therapy and it was the most difficult month in my treatment journey and I overcame it by praying to God to relieve my worries and inspire me with patience because I have no one but Him to help me." Here the side effects of the treatment began to appear on her, such as dry throat, weak immunity and appetite, and hair loss, but she was patient for the sake of her children. She used to cook for them in metal cans, using fire and plastic, despite doctors' warnings against using fire during radiation therapy. She wanted to see a smile on their faces, even in the most difficult circumstances, and she says in this regard: "I was afraid that I would die without anyone to take care of my four children, so I was keen to recover."

Cancer was not the only disease that affected "Bushra", but it also affected her with another disease, the disease of society. She faced a lot of criticism and looks of pity, even from those closest to her. However, she ignored all of that and focused on her only goal, which was recovery.

After a long period of suffering and challenge, "Bushra" was able to overcome the disease, but she was no longer the same, but became stronger, more determined, and more faithful to God. She started a new life, a life full of challenges, but she was ready to face them.

"Bushra" did not give up, but rather turned her suffering into strength. She joined the vocational courses organized by the Hadramout Foundation for Cancer Control and learned new crafts such as making scented candles, gypsum, accessories and resin, which she considered hobbies she acquired that she did not have before.

She returned to her normal life after her divorce from her negligent husband and joined a service worker job in a private hospital in the city of Mukalla in order to take care of her children and meet their basic needs.

Bushra says: "I hope that people will realize that cancer is a non-contagious disease, and that society will not look down on cancer patients with inferiority or discrimination. My advice to all patients is not to despair of God's mercy and grace and to always trust in Him, as there is no place for despair in our lives as long as we are believers."

Bushra's journey was not easy, but it was full of challenges and achievements. She proved to the world that strong will and faith in God are the two most powerful weapons to face difficulties. Today, Bushra is an inspiration to many. Her story is not just a story of illness, but rather a woman who defied the impossible and transformed from a victim to a heroine. It is a story that inspires us all and reminds us of the importance of life and the importance of holding on to hope in the most difficult circumstances.
