Afaf.. Yes to life

From a decorated doctor to a brave fighter who fought cancer and defeated it, Dr. Afef Mohamed's life turned upside down when she faced cancer. But this disease did not break her, rather it refined her personality, and increased her faith and strength, to emerge from it a completely new person.
The story began like any other story, a normal life full of dreams and hopes. But suddenly, everything changed when Afef discovered that she had ovarian cancer. The shock was great, but she did not give up. She read the examination report herself, and accepted the news calmly, as if she was preparing for a fierce battle.
The battle was not easy. Afef lost her job, and was subjected to chemotherapy and radiation, which left painful side effects on her body and soul. She felt her hair falling out in her hands, her skin turning black, and her body sagging, but she did not give up. She always remembered that health is a crown on the heads of the healthy, and that she must do her best to recover. In the midst of this ordeal, Afaf found support in her family (her mother and sisters), and in the words of encouragement she received from nurses and doctors. She joined a reading club, which helped her expand her horizons and change her outlook on life. She discovered that illness is not the end of the road, but rather a new beginning.

After recovering and defeating this disease, Afaf decided to use her experience to help others. She became a volunteer in the field of cancer control, sharing her experience with other patients, and providing them with the moral support they needed. She also began studying training courses to develop her skills, and hopes to become a coach who helps others overcome difficulties.

Afaf says: “Cancer was a difficult test, but I learned a lot from it. I learned patience and optimism, and I learned the value of life and human relationships. I realized that everything that happens is good for us, no matter how difficult it seems at first.”
Afaf's message to the world:

"Never despair, no matter how difficult the circumstances are. Remember that God is with you, and that there is always hope. Take advantage of every moment in your life, and live it with all its details. Help others as much as you can."

Today, Dr. Afaf Mohamed stands not only as a doctor who has recovered from her illness, but as a teacher and an inspiration. Regarding her future goals, she says: "Continuing in the field of medicine and providing assistance to patients, and I aspire to be a trainer who spreads information and motivates others. I have started courses to achieve these goals." She is still striving to develop herself and dreams of sharing her experiences in local and international seminars and conferences.

Afaf ends her story with simple but profound words: "Life is a journey, and illness is a station in it. What matters is how we deal with this station, and how we emerge from it stronger and wiser." It is as if she is telling us: The story is not over yet, life continues, and hope is always present.
