Launching of the accessories making and resin art course for cancer patients and survivors in Mukalla

On Sunday evening, 8/1/2023, Dr. Walid Abdullah Al-Batati, Executive Director of Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control, along with Mr. Muhammad bin Qarwan, a specialist in the My Profession is in My Hands program at the Silah Foundation for Development, launched the accessories making and resin art course for cancer patients and survivors as part of the My Profession is in My Hands 6 program for the year 2022, which is funded by the Silah Foundation for Development and implemented by the Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control.

At the launch, Dr. Walid Al-Batati, Executive Director of Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control, explained that this course will be implemented for a number of cancer patients and survivors in the city of Mukalla.

He also touched on the goal of this professional course, which is to empower cancer patients and survivors and integrate them into society and discover their professional and entrepreneurial capabilities and skills to advance them and strive to establish small projects to be a source of income for them, thanking the Silah Foundation for Development for its support and constant support for cancer patients.

For his part, Mr. Mohammed bin Qarwan, a specialist in the "My Profession is in My Hands" program at Silah Development Foundation, confirmed that the program targets all segments of society and groups with special needs. This year, cancer patients and survivors were targeted through the Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control due to the effective partnership between the two institutions.

In his speech, he said that the program includes a set of accompanying courses and support services that enable beneficiaries to succeed in the labor market.

The Director of Programs and Projects at the Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control, Eng. Mohammed Bahbara, explained that the program will be implemented in Hadhramout Governorate in two sessions, a session for girls in the city of Mukalla and another session for young people in Hadhramout Valley.

The launch was attended by Ms. Nada Batarfi, the program's follow-up and evaluation officer, Mr. Hashem Al-Eidaroos, head of the Top Arab Institute, and the distinguished trainer, Ms. Faiza Bakili.
